Biographies:
John C. Cook, Partner
John C. Cook graduated from Carleton College and The University of Michigan Law School, where he served as an Assistant Editor of the Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. As a partner at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, he chaired the Labor and Employment Law Group, and later as a partner at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, he led the employment law group in their San Francisco office. He has practiced labor and employment law for over 34 years. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.
Susan H. Roos, Partner
Susan H. Roos graduated from Stanford University (A.B. 1978) and the University of Southern California (J.D.1982). During law school she externed for the Honorable Mariana Pfaelzer, United States District Court. She spent 13 years as an associate, and then a partner at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, in its Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. She has substantial experience defending employers in all aspects of employment-related matters, including sexual harassment, all types of employment discrimination, ADA access issues and trade secret litigation. She also represents employers in collective bargaining and arbitrations pursuant to collective bargaining agreements. Her expertise includes advising and counseling employers regarding employment and severance agreements, wage and hour issues, labor relations, and employment law. She has jury and non-jury trial experience in both state and federal court, as well as extensive experience before federal and state administrative agencies, arbitrators and mediators.
Michael E. Wilbur, Partner
Michael E. Wilbur graduated from the University of South Carolina (B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Emory University School of Law (J.D.) He is admitted to practice in Georgia and California, and has over ten years' experience representing employers in labor and employment matters before administrative agencies and in litigation in state and federal courts. He has been a partner at Cook & Roos since 1997. Before joining Cook & Roos, he was an associate at Fisher & Phillips and Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. He frequently speaks to business groups on a variety of labor and employment law issues.
Matthew A. Goodin
Matthew A. Goodin graduated from the University of California, San Diego (B.A.) and Golden Gate University (J.D.) where he was an issue editor for the Golden Gate University Law Review. Prior to joining Cook & Roos, Mr. Goodin was an associate at Dillingham & Murphy and at Berman & Berkeley, where his practice emphasized employment litigation. He has broad experience in all types of employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts, including several jury trials. Mr. Goodin has lectured and published articles on employment issues, and has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America.
Roger L. Crawford
Roger L. Crawford graduated from Connecticut College (B.A.) and Villanova University School of Law, where he was a student editor of the Villanova Journal of Law and Investment Management. Before joining Cook & Roos, Mr. Crawford was an associate at Jackson Lewis LLP.
